Photography was an interest of mine at a young age; there were inspirations all around. My father has a collection of old cameras, some he has had since he was a kid. While helping my Grandfather clean out a storage barn I stumbled upon his 35mm film Minolta camera. My Grandfather must have seen the fascination all over my face, because he gave me that camera and I still have it today. I must have spent most of my summer in anticipation waiting for my film to be developed.
In 2008, my fiancé at the time asked me to spend an afternoon in the fall to take some portrait photographs of her for the Miss Maryland USA pageant. I grabbed my camera and without any idea what so ever we successfully took a headshot and program book picture.
That November Gabrielle won the title of Miss Maryland and she was on her way to the Miss USA pageant.
I spent most of my weekends snapping photos of Gabrielle at her various events and appearances.
The thing that probably brought me to where I am now was the events that happened that year. Not only was Gabrielle blessed but I was fortune enough to share that time with her. I got to meet and assist Bryce Buell with her official headshots for Miss USA, of course spending all the time I have with Bryce has inspired me to where I am now, I wouldn't be here now without him!
That leads me to this question, what about the future? I have no immediate goal for photography, besides one, “Make photography more than a hobby, but continue to have fun.”
